This privacy policy explains what personal data we process when you visit thejuicechief.com, why we do it, and what rights you have. We take the protection of your data seriously and process it in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).
1. Who is responsible
The controller responsible for data processing on this website is:
Claus Kinzinger – The Juice Chief
Kastanienallee 2
14050 Berlin, Germany
Email: info@thejuicechief.com
You can find further details in our Impressum.
2. Overview: legal bases
We process personal data only where a legal basis applies, in particular:
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) TDDDG) – e.g. for analytics and advertising cookies or the newsletter. You can withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future.
- Contract or pre-contractual steps (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) – e.g. when you contact us about a request.
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, § 25(2) TDDDG) – e.g. for the secure and stable operation of this website.
3. Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by Hostinger International Ltd., 61 Lordou Vironos Street, 6023 Larnaca, Cyprus. When you visit the site, the server automatically records technical information that your browser transmits: IP address, date and time of the request, the page requested, referrer URL, browser type and version, and operating system. This is necessary to deliver the website and to keep it secure (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Log files are deleted after a short period unless they are needed to investigate a security incident. We have a data processing agreement with the hosting provider.
4. Security and performance
To protect the site against attacks we use Wordfence Security (Defiant Inc., USA). Wordfence processes the IP address and request data of visitors to detect and block malicious traffic. For faster loading we use LiteSpeed Cache, which runs on our own server. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure and fast website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
5. Cookies and consent management
We use cookies and similar technologies. Technically necessary cookies are set on the basis of § 25(2) TDDDG and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. All other cookies (for example for analytics or advertising) are only used if you give your consent in our cookie banner (§ 25(1) TDDDG, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
We use CookieYes (CookieYes Limited, United Kingdom) to manage consent. It stores your choice in a cookie and logs the consent (anonymized IP address, date and time, your settings) so that we can document it. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time via the cookie settings on our website.
6. Analytics
Google Analytics – With your consent we use Google Analytics, integrated via the Site Kit plugin and Google Tag Manager, provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Google Analytics uses cookies to analyze how visitors use our website (e.g. pages viewed, time on site, approximate location, device information). IP addresses are shortened. Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA; Google is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. More information: policies.google.com/privacy.
WP Statistics – We also use the WP Statistics plugin, which counts visits on our own server without sharing data with third parties. IP addresses are anonymized. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our interest in basic, privacy-friendly visitor statistics).
7. Advertising: Google AdSense
With your consent we show ads via Google AdSense (Google Ireland Limited). Google may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads and to measure their performance, including personalized ads based on your interests if you have agreed to that. Data may be transferred to the USA (EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework). Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. You can manage ad personalization at adssettings.google.com.
8. Amazon affiliate links
The Juice Chief takes part in the Amazon Associates Program, an affiliate program that lets websites earn commissions by linking to Amazon. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. When you click an Amazon link (including shortened amzn.to links), you are taken to Amazon. Amazon may use cookies to record that you came from our website so that a commission can be attributed. We do not receive any personal data about you from Amazon, only aggregated reports. For processing on Amazon’s websites, the privacy notice of Amazon applies: amazon.com/privacy.
9. Newsletter
If you sign up for our newsletter, we process your email address and, if provided, your first name to send you the newsletter. We use a double opt-in: you receive an email asking you to confirm your subscription. We use the email marketing services Kit (formerly ConvertKit; ConvertKit LLC, USA) and/or Omnisend (Omnisend UAB, Lithuania), which store your data and may measure whether emails are opened and links are clicked. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email; your data is then deleted from the mailing list. Transfers to the USA are based on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.
10. Contact form and email
When you contact us via our contact form (WPForms) or by email, we process the data you provide (e.g. name, email address, message) to answer your request. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for requests related to a contract, otherwise our legitimate interest in answering inquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We delete the data once your request has been fully dealt with, unless statutory retention periods apply.
To protect the form against spam we use Google reCAPTCHA (Google Ireland Limited). reCAPTCHA checks whether the input is made by a human, using information such as IP address, browser data and mouse movements, which is sent to Google. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in protecting the website from abuse (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
11. Comments
When you leave a comment, we store your comment, the name and email address you enter, the time of the comment and your IP address. This helps us to detect abuse and spam (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Comments are checked by the anti-spam service Akismet (Automattic Inc., USA), which receives the comment content, name, email address, IP address and browser information. If you use Gravatar (Automattic Inc.), an anonymized string created from your email address may be sent to Gravatar to check whether you have a profile picture. Comments and their metadata are stored until the comment is deleted.
12. Embedded content and social media
YouTube – Some pages contain embedded YouTube videos (Google Ireland Limited). When you play a video, data such as your IP address and information about the page you are on is transmitted to YouTube, and YouTube may set cookies. Where possible we use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
Instagram and Pinterest – Our website only contains simple links to our profiles on Instagram (Meta Platforms Ireland Limited) and Pinterest (Pinterest Europe Ltd.). No data is transmitted to these platforms until you click a link. When you visit our profiles there, the privacy policies of these platforms apply. We publish our own content on Pinterest and look at aggregated statistics about our own Pins (e.g. impressions and clicks); we do not collect personal data about individual Pinterest users.
13. Transfers to countries outside the EU
Some of the services mentioned above are provided by companies in the USA. Where data is transferred to the USA, this is based on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (adequacy decision of the European Commission) or, where a provider is not certified, on the EU standard contractual clauses.
14. How long we keep your data
We store personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes stated above or as required by law (for example commercial and tax retention periods). Data is then deleted or anonymized.
15. Your rights
You have the right to:
- request access to your personal data (Art. 15 GDPR),
- have incorrect data corrected (Art. 16 GDPR),
- have your data deleted (Art. 17 GDPR),
- restrict processing (Art. 18 GDPR),
- receive your data in a portable format (Art. 20 GDPR),
- object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR),
- withdraw any consent you have given at any time, with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR).
To exercise your rights, simply email us at info@thejuicechief.com.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is: Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit, Alt-Moabit 59–61, 10555 Berlin, Germany.
16. Changes to this privacy policy
We update this privacy policy when our website or the services we use change. The current version is always available on this page.
